Molina Healthcare of Florida and The MolinaCares Accord Donate $170,000 to Support Health and Wellness in Florida Communities

Molina Healthcare of Florida (“Molina”), in collaboration with The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), presented six grants totaling $170,000 to local organizations dedicated to providing social and health supports for Floridians. The donations will fund efforts to improve birth outcomes, educational attainment, housing stability, work readiness, financial sustainability, and healthy aging.

“Molina is committed to empowering Floridians and investing in our communities,” said Bill Hinsdale, plan president for Molina Healthcare of Florida. “Together with The MolinaCares Accord, we are proud to partner with these organizations to support their missions.”

The grants were presented to the following organizations:

  • Branches provides free financial wellness services for families by offering one-on-one financial coaching, financial education, and entrepreneurship support to all ages, from kindergarten through adulthood. Molina’s giving will help expand the organization’s financial coaching program.
  • Family Action Network Movement provides individuals with wrap-around services such as mental health support, crisis and domestic violence intervention, counseling, health care, job training, financial literacy, adult education, and afterschool programs. Molina’s grant will fund initiatives addressing the contributing factors to chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes.
  • Family Scholar House (FSH) empowers families to break the cycle of poverty through academic and career coaching, skills development programs, support in navigating affordable housing, and more. Molina’s donation will fund FSH Works, a workforce development program that builds on the skills and talents of its participants to guide them towards a fulfilling career.
  • Family Tree of Life Center provides families with the tools necessary to overcome, thrive, and be successful in their parenting journey. The organization supports at-risk pregnant populations through miscarriage and loss support, classes for fathers, counseling, and mentorship. Molina’s funding will support numerous programs and help purchase essential items such as diapers, formula, prenatal vitamins, and car seats.
  • Hispanic Coalition offers programs in the areas of job placement, elder abuse prevention, intimate partner violence, community reentry, supportive housing, social engagement, and reduction of isolation. Molina’s grant will support senior fraud prevention education.
  • The South Florida Institute on Aging (SoFIA) empowers older adults and their families through volunteer-driven programs that promote independence, connection, and well-being. SoFIA provides services including companionship and respite care, digital literacy training, caregiver support, and community education. Through this partnership, Molina will support SoFIA’s mission by engaging its members as volunteers to expand access to these essential services across South Florida.

“Molina is a light in the dark for people in need of holistic supports, and in my 34 years of service to the Florida community, I have not seen a more involved organization committed to improving the lives of those they serve,” commented Rosa E. Kasse, president of the Hispanic Coalition. “We are grateful for their generosity that will allow us to expand our services to those who count on us for help.”
